IoBM & OPEN Karachi pledge to promote Entrepreneurial Growth

Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs (OPEN Karachi) has signed a major strategic pledge with the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) and the UNESCO Education for Entrepreneurship Network (EE Net) – Pakistan Chapter, which is represented by and housed at IoBM. The collaboration aims to leverage OPEN Karachi’s extensive global diaspora network to advance the UNESCO EE Net’s mission of promoting entrepreneurial education and sustainable development.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Talib Syed Karim, President of IoBM, and Mr. Tariq Khan, President of OPEN Global. Raza Abbas, the Focal Person for the UNESCO EE Net – Pakistan Chapter and Head of the Shahjehan Syed Karim Incubation Centre (SSKIC) at IoBM, also signed the pledge, representing the UNESCO EE Net. Representing IoBM at the occasion were Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abbas, Dean College of Computer Science and Information Systems (CCSIS); Nabhan Karim, HoD MARCOM; and Muhammad Omar Iftikhar, Senior Assistant Manager, MARCOM.

This partnership will concentrate on several key initiatives, all aimed at fostering a more robust and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem. By promoting entrepreneurial education, the collaboration seeks to equip learners with the essential skills and mindset for success in a dynamic global economy. The partnership will also advocate for industry Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to secure vital seed funding for tech-enabled startups, helping them grow from the incubation stage. A core focus is on empowering youth, women, and other underrepresented groups through mentorship, specialized training, and global exposure. Additionally, the initiative will facilitate greater collaboration among academia, industry, and policymakers to create inclusive growth opportunities, while championing innovation and sustainability.
